Virgil Abloh and Nike Announce “The Ten” Collection

Rockford Vs. The World!

Virgil Abloh, American designer and Off-White’s founder has been teasing reconstructed Nike sneakers he’s made such as Blazer, Air Jordan 1, and Air Presto, but early this morning all our wishes were granted when Nike confirmed the upcoming partnership.

Nike revealed that there are 10 sneakers in total (hence the name “The Ten”) being designed by Virgil with 2 different themes. “The first, ‘REVEALING,’ was designed to look accessible: hand-cut, open-source and reconstructed. It includes the Air Jordan I, Nike Air Max 90, Nike Air Presto, Nike Air VaporMax and Nike Blazer Mid. The second, ‘GHOSTING,’ was designed with translucent uppers to further the idea of revealing and unite the second set of silhouettes through common material. It includes the Converse Chuck Taylor, Nike Zoom Fly SP, Nike Air Force 1 Low, Nike React Hyperdunk 2017 and Nike Air Max 97.”

Virgil’s drive and unbelievable pace led to one of Nike’s fastest collaborations to date. The genius behind Off-White was able to complete 10 different silhouettes in 10 months. With the release of these beautiful sneakers upon us, I can’t wait to see what these look like in hand. Read the full Nike newsletter here.
